Connector alignment shroud
A card cage with plug in modules was experiencing pin stubbing problems due to assembly tolerance stack up problems. Holding the sheet metal card cage parts to tighter tolerances was cost-prohibitive. This connector shroud with alignment ramps was the cost-effective solution to ensure correct alignment of the connectors during module insertion. The shroud slips over and snaps onto the connector without fasteners. It is injection molded and was designed using Pro/Engineer.
