The task for this project was to create a picture of our neighborhood using photoshop. The artist I gained inspiration from for this project was Romare Bearden. I used three different methods for non-destructive editing. For example the background was a gradient fill layer, starting on the bottom as yellow and fading into white. I used the layer style, to create a bevel and emboss effect on the edge of each building. Finally the last non destructive method of editing I used was making a layer mask to blend the subway map with the gradient. My art reflects my neighborhood because it shows what type of buildings are around, which trains are near me, and which borough I live in. My favorite part of this assignment was adding the subway map. The subway map shows this neighborhood is in Brooklyn near the 4, and 5 trains.
