Hillcrest Dementia Care Center
For my healthcare project, I completed a center for those with Alzheimers. At the Hillcrest Center, I focused my design on the needs of the residents, visitors and staff while also focusing on universal design, sustainability, place attachment, color theory and prospect and refuge theory. The space supports the side effects of Alzheimers, which are confusion, wandering and rummaging while making sure each resident feels like they have a purposeful life, freedom and dignity.
