During my time at Weta Workshop, I worked on a number of different films and in a variety of departments. These included model-making, prop-making, painting and the leather room and films included ‘Avatar’, ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’ and ‘Indiana Jones’. My task was to ensure that all models I worked on were finished to a high standard, with careful consideration for the detailing involved in each project.
Work was expected to be of the highest quality and required use of the workshop tools and building facilities under high pressure with strict deadlines and often involved assisting in other departments when deadlines were looming.
The projects were of such large scale that work was usually undertaken in groups in order to produce efficient and effective models.
