Auto Locking Inertia Reel Belay Device - The aim of this project was to look at a mechanical system and improve it, by either making it safer, or more efficient. I enjoy climbing in my spare time and knew of safety hazards using an auto locking belay device, especially with novices. So i combined an inertial reel from a car seat belt, with an auto locking belay device to create a safer climbing device.
