As part of our final project we were required to perform a finite element analysis on any component of our choosing. I selected the pushrod of the suspension system, after my initial analysis of my first pushrod design I found it was inadequate. For my design revision I increased wall thickness of the pushrod by a factor of 3.23 which yielded a much stronger pushrod. This image displays the Von Mises stress and displacement of the revised pushrod.

Pushrod Snowmobile Suspension

As part of a final project I designed a conceptual front end suspension for a snowmobile. The pushrod connected to the lower a-arm transmits force to the coilover via a rocker arm. The goal in this project was to create a system composed of at least 10 unique components to demonstrate your knowledge in 3-D modeling and drafting.
