"cat and mouse game (with the audience"
"when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change" -anonim
the initial inspiration for "cat and mouse game(with the audience)" was how the perception of sequential art is often omitted by critics and readers alike.
the installation tackles the core idea of many layers of perception the comics have to offer. In traditional sense comics is constructed with story, artworks, written dialogues and interpretation of readers.
In my work those factors are represented with light, abstract forms and paper screens and only by combining all of them we can enjoy the story - the cat hunting the rat. Or is it more than just that?

inspiration for this work was taken from a particular, never dying, urben legend about a deep fried rat found in the bucket of chicken wings.

have you ever wondered how your 'original character' would look in real life?
all around the internet I can see such attempts where authors match their characters with actors, who in their opinion would be true to their characters' look. I'm not that good with matching actors really, that's why I decided to sculpt a bust of one of my original characters - Andrei - to put to a test not only my skills as an sculptor but also my imagination as a comics artist!
what can I say? it was one of the hardest tasks I've challenged myself with so far!
