Perspective of the Business Center Lounge, where the Doctors, business men, and all guests can come to work while at the hotel. Within this space there is also two various sized Conference Rooms and a Printing Station.
This perspective shows the first floor Bar and Lounge. The lush upholstery, dark wood, texture wallcovering, and back lit bar gives the space an intimate and sophisticated feel.
The Double Executive bedroom features a kitchenette, living space, and two bedrooms. Each bedroom is full of daylight with the floor to ceiling windows overlooking downtown Akron. The space is sophisticated with a feature wall that resembles the Milky Way Galaxy constellations, a mix of leather and velvet upholstery, and a warm color palette.

Boutique Hotel: Hotel 30

For this project, we were assigned to teams of 4. The challenge was to focus on the research and conceptual design development of a small boutique hotel located near downtown Akron, near the hospital district. The hotel is visitor friendly, but focuses on a clientele of traveling doctors, business workers, and patients and their families. Our research drove our concept and design where the number thirty became a significant part of our project. This building was once the Akron Pure Milk factory, where they kept the milk refrigerated at 30 degrees. During the same time Edward Hubble was discovering the Milky Way Galaxy, which has thirty constellations and each grouping being at a thirty degree angle. Images of the galaxy inspired our finishes and furniture selection. These elements contribute to the inspiration for each unit in the hotel, and connect the community to the space much like the original use of the Pure Milk factory did.
