In first year studio, we were prompted to create a thirty-second video. The video I created incorporates a split screen and captures the movement of food dye immersed in water. The split screen represents conflicting emotions and consuming thoughts while the dye symbolizes an evolving struggle with doubt. As problems are solved, other problems arise. Some clips are turned sideways or upside down. Other clips are slowed down, sped up, or reversed. The sound integrated in the video was made using GarageBand. The eerie music provides tension and uneasiness, which are feelings often associated with doubt. Doubt is constantly reemerging within the subconscious and longs to be resolved. Unresolved uncertainty can result in hesitation and skepticism.
