Birth, Life, and Reformation

First, I cut and manipulated redwood pine panels into cubes. After I created two pine cubes, I lathed them into two circles in the materials lab. Next, I cut shards from the second sphere and used them to create a sculpture as third piece. The first sphere symbolizes how we come into the world. The sphere reflects the notion that we are born whole and relatively unscathed. We are born this way only to be worn away and beaten by life’s trials and tribulations, as reflected in second piece. As we come to find our purpose and begin to follow our ambitions, we strive to reform ourselves in order to transform into the best version of ourselves.
