Water Hunger / Expo Pavilion

This project is an expo pavilion situated in Porta Venezia’s public gardens, in Milan. The architecture is clearly developed horizontally, according to the rectangular shape of the available lot (18 x 54 m).
The theme of the integration and the dialogue between the building and the park is essential: therefore, thanks to glass walls, a visual connection between the inside and the outside has been established on two opposite sides of the building, while the other two opposite sides are clean and independent walls. This all ends up in an elegant and minimalist architecture.
The exhibition too has been designed, the subject being the social problem in some countries of the world of the lack of alimentation. In particular the exhibition is focused on the specific topic of the lack of water in said countries compared to the wasting of the same, which often marks the behaviour of civilized countries. The exhibition’s title is consequently “Water Hunger”, that is also the pavilion’s name.
