The V-City project imagines a city in the suburbs (Vaughan,Ontario) where there are mixed land uses, densely centred around key transit-oriented infrastructure. With energy efficient buildings and vehicles, V – City has a low carbon impact on the environment and promotes a healthy life style with access to nature and local food.
V-City is an hybrid node fostering social and economic exchange through the combination of learning, playing, sharing and growing.
It cultivates a lifestyle where living and moving around is filled with vitality, diversity, choice and discovery, underpinned by convenience, order and cohesion. It conceives a few type of public realm filled with civic activity resulting from the citizens’ use of intelligently operated shared services and facilities.
This emerging connected city will foster a new generation that understands the benefits to living that come from the art of sharing.
