SMART Emergency System
During an emergency, the lack of information fuels chaos.
The SMART Emergency System effectively delivers quick, reliable, contextual information through a network of ad-hoc wireless wall mounted radio units. The units interact with users through lights, sound, text information & a distress button.
The campus police dispatcher controls the system, as they are the communication pivot point between the victims, first responders, university authorities and law enforcement.
The units behave in a low alert, information state (blue light) or a conspicuous high alert state (pulsing red light & alarm). The distress button is a silent method of indicating to the police that there is an issue at that location.
