Herba - Herba is a dynamic home appliance that uses aeroponic technology to grow fresh garden herbs in your kitchen. The system is clean, efficient and dirtless, requiring only weekly filling or “watering”.
Chloe: Child Laundry Helper - The Chloe Child Laundry Helper is designed to aid child development through active participation in household tasks. Chloe offers a simplified and clear method for children to do their own laundry by separating dark and lights in parts that can separately be taken to the washing machine. Child development researchers call the ages nine through twelve middle childhood, and it is generally regarded as an age where children develop a sense of self. Chloe offers children guided responsibility to help them define themselves as active participants in the home.

Cogito: Eyewear for an Aging Population - Cogito was designed for the Opus Eyewear Competition and received first place in its category, reading glasses. My process was to define my user and to create a design that met a number of the user’s functional needs. Cogito is designed for an aging and technologically advanced population that places an emphasis on style. Made from memory metal, the Cogito frames bend into a natural storage position on a home computer monitor. The computer model was built in Rhino and rendered in 3D Studio Max.
As a finalist in the Opus Design Competition, a presentation model of the eyewear was commissioned. I built the model myself out of aluminum wire using jeweler’s tools.
Kumasan: Toddler Hand Washing Friend - The primary users of KumaSan are toddlers ages one through three. KumaSan enables these children to wash their own hands in the bathroom sink. Designed for the ergonomics of a child, KumaSan uses a simple push motion to turn the water both off and on, allowing the youngest of children to use the sink, while also retro-fitting the sink to toddler size.
