The injection molded Lever Latch was designed to replace the cold-formed polycarbonate lever latches originally manufactured for Aspen Medical's Lumbo-Sacral Orthosis line of back braces. Soon after the release of the LSO product line, production demands warranted the cost of the injection molding process. The new injection molded Lever Latch was designed and modeled to offer the same 3to1 mechanical advantage as the original dual part mechanism, however by taking advantage of molding processes, the updated mechanism is much stronger, works smoother, is fixed to the LSO without any alterations to the LSO brace components, and has considerably reduced the cost of every LSO in the product line.
