"Web" Carbon Fiber Motocross Knee Brace by EVS Sports - The Web knee brace was developed for the Motocross market. The client company had developed a new joint which provided motion better mimicking that of the riders knee. The brace was developed to support and protect the knee from the external forces experienced by dirt bike riders. The brace features a comfortable foam inner lining fixed, via hook and loop Velcro, to the exoskeletal brace structure. Additional impact protection is awarded the patella by the removable knee cup. Consideration was given to the placement of the device in the client's portfolio of existing products which includes knee braces, knee cuffs, chest protectors, and additional Motocross protection apparel.
Development of this carbon fiber knee brace involved evaluation of existing products, including cost saving concerns. Project concerns also included function, ease of application, and manufacturability. Great care was paid to product appearance.
