Homage - contemporary Chinese furniture
Contemporary Chinese funiture in the Homage collection marries Chinese tradition with a minimal modern aesthetic, incorporated with new materials and new techniques.
Based on Chinese traditional furniture design, my inspiration is from “Qi” in the Chinese painting and calligraphy. Qi means a broken form does not indicate a broken soul. Formally, I was seeking to use as less forms as possible to represent much more poetic imagcry. The inspiration of the modern design language is from constructivism compositions - points, lines and surfaces.
