Burt's Bees New Hive for Collaboration - New Hive was a project I did with a partner to to a corporate office for the company Burt's Bees. It became an exercise in branding materiality. This perspective is of the Breakroom/Brainstorming area with a view of the creative department through the curtain wall. Because Burt's Bees is a very environmental company, this was also my first hand in designing sustainably.
New Hive: Waiting Area - Because the "New Hive for Collaboration" was all about...well...collaboration, many of the key areas were designed to create areas of convergence and gathering.
New Hive- Department C (Creative Dept) - This view is of the Creative Department. Each cubical is in the shape of a honeycomb and gives the user a 180degree work space with lots of storage. The ceiling is dropped to keep the office noise to a minimum, which reduces headaches and increases concentration. Towards the back of the image you can see a glimpse of the brainstorming area where employees can gather together to brainstorm ideas on a white board, in a more laid back atmosphere.
GAIAM- Restroom - GAIAM is a lifestyles company that produces not only yoga supplies and apparel, but also earth friendly products such as eco-friendly cleaners and light bulbs. This store is to be there first retail location offline. Each space in the store is designed to resemble some part of nature. This is a perspective of the basement level restroom which is adjacent to the yoga center. It is designed to resemble a cave thus giving the user a feeling of momentary solitude.
Lighting Installation: Grazing - In my Lighting class, we were asked to pick a lighting type and do an installation piece to represent it. Our group was given "Grazing" which is when lighting is located close to a wall giving it either a scallop shape or accenting the textures of the wall. In our installation we used a textured back wall meant to mimic cement or some other natural rock base material. We also used gathered fabric on the side walls to see how the light would play off of the material.

REVIT - This is a building that I designed in my REVIT class. It is an example of some of what I learned in the duration of the class.
Modern Rococo for Todays Teen - My first assignment in History of Interiors was to incorporate aspects of the Rococo period of design into a modern room. With a few tweaks to the Rococo aesthetic for modern things like technology and current cultural attributes, I designed this room for today's teenage girl.
