GardenAnswers (GA) is a mobile application that can accurately identify and provide detailed information on over 20,000 plants and plant-related diseases/pests through photo-recognition. In instances where the app fails to provide a match, users can submit photos and questions to a team of gardening and horticultural experts for a small fee. Launched in 2013, GA became one of the top gardening apps on both iTunes and the Google Play store but is facing increased competition and potential stagnation. Team SOA, owner of GA, felt that an updated look and feel would keep them competitive and and hired me on as a design consultant.
