This is the back of Elle's bedroom set for Legally Blonde. For the next scene, this set turns around, the trailer gooseneck flips out, and the door is replaced by a screen door from offstage (next photo).
Dewey's trailer set from Legally Blonde, fully changed from Elle's bedroom.
Castle set SketchUp model for Beauty and the Beast. As can be seen here, often the set designs would be broken into smaller wall sections so the set could be assembled in pieces. This allowed student crews to divide up the work and allowed parts of the set to be built while other stakeholders needed access to the full stage.
Finished Beauty and the Beast castle set. I supervised student crews in the construction, painting, and dressing of the set.
"Magic mirror" prop designed and constructed for Beauty and the Beast. Prop consists of electro-luminescent wire sewn to a piece of diffusion material and sandwiched between two other layers of reflective material. Four of these props were made, one for each character seen and one "generic" mirror.

Set & Prop Design/Construction

A selection of sets and props I designed, built, and directed students to build during my tenure as Quince Orchard High School Theatre's Technical Director. Design considerations were the artistic needs of the show, director's vision, budget, and abilities of student crew members. Sets were designed in SketchUp.
