Kingpins Capsule for Berto / Lenzing

This capsule collection highlights the preformance and heritage of Italien denim and the artistic expression found in New York City. Taking inspiration from the 50's, a time where denim was transitioning from workers wear, when denim became a key item in the American wardrobe. At this time, the uniqueness of ones jeans told a story of youth, individuality, and new ideas. This idea has developed further and further over time. My focus for this capsule is on heritage denim and the utilitarian effects/stylings of this era. By focusing on modern finishes, techniques and treatments, these washes and styles will be inspirational as well as representational of the strong heritage this fabric holds. The styling will reflect the individualistic attitude, the grit, and the glam of NYC's inhabitants. New York's dwellers come here humble, to work hard, to rise to the top of our game, just like the story of our beloved denim. We never lose our edge, and that is how we like our jeans.
