In to Win - A Vegas food show? You bet. Wocka wocka wocka. Connecting the game of gambling to food was the clever touch in these invitations. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Adventure Down Under - One of the partners of Inprint has a certain love affair with Australia. He has pitched “outback” and “down under” themed” food show ideas to about every division of U.S. Foodservice that we work with. One year, they finally bit. You can probably tell that, just as my boss has an obsession with Australia, I have an obsession with Warhol. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
A Wedding at the Beach - It was a destination beach wedding and didn't take long to come up with the idea to fuse classic beach icons with useful information. Driving instructions? A classic beach cruiser and a vintage Woodie. RSVP? It read "We'll save a seat for you" and naturally used a beach chair and lifeguard stand. The invite itself featured an illustration of an umbrella and two sandals (awww). Agency: Freelance. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Beyond Today Food Show - We chose a series of "in the kitchen" style images, to really connect with the heart of the foodservice industry, pairing them with headlines that related cooking to running a business. The campaign included teasers, invitations, brochures and a website. In the end, the work worked. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Our Wedding - As a creative, its a known curse: designing for yourself. What you see to the right is the invitation, a grommetted booklet that contained everything our guests needed to know about us and the event. The far left is our own version of a ketubah, which is a customary Jewish wedding document. In the middle is an illustration of a ring on a rose, which is symbolic of the way I proposed to my wife. Brand building in the name of love! Agency: Freelance. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Exploration of Food - Using old scans of maps and topography, we created a unique "exploration" themed food show for U.S. Foodservice. The wit is in the details, relating the giant triangle illustration to a slice of pizza, the globe underneath to a meatball. The map contains key locations like "The Great Food Pyramids", "The Leaning Tower of Pizza" and, of course, Chile. Very tongue in cheek, which I guess is quite appropriate for promoting food. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction & Design.
The Idea Factory - How is an idea born? Can it be manufactured? Probably not, but we thought it would be fun to try. For this event, we created a fictional world where an idea is assembled, tested, polished and delivered. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
The Pullouts Poster - The natural progression of the album release is the album release party. This is the poster, based on the album I designed. Agency: Freelance. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Ritz Food Show - Food Show + 1920s Style Theme = Chefs and servers ballroom dancing. The campaign included teasers, invitations, brochures and a website. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Rockin' in Roanoke - A retro-funk modern sock hop kinda show. The record to the left is actually a die cut invitation printed with varnish techniques to create realistic vinyl reflections. The campaign included invitations, posters and a website. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Screamin' Soiree - These posters were auctioned off at the Grandin Theatre, a historic independent film house, for their annual fundraising gala. I was inspired not by the commonly known villains of horror, but rather the victims. Based off of the many screaming faces of film, I created this bloody collage of fright. Agency: Inprint. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Silent. Auction. - You'll see this little Ad 2 character appear in several works on this site. He is the organization's icon for "young creative hipster." The concept of the poster was pretty self explanatory. Advertise, well, a silent auction. Agency: Freelance. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
Soiree Noir - The Grandin Theatre, an independent film house and a staple in the Roanoke Valley, asked me to create a branding campaign for their annual benefit soiree. With the theme being film noir, I saw the perfect opportunity to visually combine the theme and the party. Posters were the primary source of advertising, but the campaign also included postcard invitations, flyers, and graphics for movie screen slides and tv spots. Agency: Freelance. My role: Art Direction, Design & Illustration.
