The Bozca Zest concept sets out to establish what makes a vehicle physiologically and psychologically practical and appealing to women & men drivers. As the vehicle is designed for both genders, female’s characteristics differ from a male’s expectation of a vehicle. Men want the vehicle to look sporty and to get to their destination faster, whereas female wants their creature comforts, useful interior like lots of storage area for carrying things such as accessories. Additionally, females want to the vehicle to be accessible where they can drive with heels, adjust dials with long nails and access the vehicle with short skirt without exposing anything.
The point of which was to discover the aesthetic preferences of the target users, aims high quality luxury market. Women prefer soft, organic, marginal and luxury structures and also technological and functional features. On the other hand, men prefer sharp, hard, sporty, dynamic looks.
The Bozca Zest’s design is aiming both gender's aesthetic preferences. The main inspiration of the car is a Falcon; headlights–eye, front part–beak, doors-wings and back part is like its tail. As a designer, in my opinion falcon is an animal, which is fragile, sharp, beautiful, feminine…etc. Females are more selective than males; this is why its design has more feminine features. About male side, the strategy is approaching them with dynamic sporty-aggressive look and high technology on the board.
The concept has two big doors in wing shape which is opening like butterfly doors. It is making the car similar to real falcon’s wing moves. Also there is not any rear mirror in the Bozca Zest. Instead of it, there are cameras to show rear part on the large screen. Rims are one of the most important parts of the car for appearance. Therefore, work on the rim design separately to give it some emotion. During the design development, inspired by water lily, which is a rare and elegant flower. The Bozca Zest design inspirations are from nature for making it fit to the environment.
Both genders don’t like to spend their moments in a narrow place while they are driving. The roof of the Bozca Zest is formed by glass so the interior will have big amount of skylight. This is providing a fresh feeling in narrow areas for drivers. About interior, there have woman-friendly features such as; touch screens for easier click with long nails, center console spacious enough to stow a handbag, carved-out door panels to help keep the rings from getting whacked when window switches are used, more compartments… Additionally, the accelerator is equipped with an adjustable heel support and pedal so these different tilts to the accelerator pedal that makes driving in high heels safer and more comfortable.
Bozca Zest is a high performance eco-friendly car. It has a Full Hybrid - PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) propulsion. It has an Audi 5-cylinder turbocharged engine. The combination of direct fuel injection with turbocharging is a logical advance. A 2.5-litre engine capacity delivers a power output of 250 kW at between 5400 and 6500 rpm and 450 Nm of torque at just 1600 rpm coupled with 4 synchronized electric engines. They have permanent magnets with axial flow disc (in-wheel motor) integrated into the wheels. During normal use, the vehicle uses only the electric engines using an electric energy from the batteries or from the engine, in case that the batteries are discharged. It is possible thanks to a generator. The latter produces electric energy that is used immediately from the electric engines and it could be stored when it isn’t completely used. The turbo engine isn’t mechanically connected to the wheels and it works with constant torque at minimal consumption regimes.
The Bozca Zest’s performance is comparable with internal combustion engine sport car. It has a composite chassis the makes the car lightweight, only 1200 kg. It permits to achieve high performance, 270 km/h and 0-100km/h in only 5,5 sec. These performances are provided thanks it low aerodynamic body, able to have a 0,35 Cx.
The chassis is designed to be built with a CFRP chassis in order to be lightweight and really strong in impact. In the front there are carbon fiber conical elements able to absorb impact energy. The energy trunk is also in the front part in order to have progressive shock absorption. The doors have a carbon fiber wave absorber. The body panels are thought to be realised with natural composite materials. They are a sandwich of linen and cork linked with and epoxy resin matrix. This choice permits to have a safe structural cell and lightweight bodywork. The wheels are built with recycled aluminum.
The technology is an important issue on-board of Bozca Zest. The drive is by wire and it is also an important weight reduction while start and stop system helps to save more energy as possible. The energy on-board is stored in a 84 kg lithium battery pack. It is placed in the middle of the car in order to have a better balanced vehicle. The engine mainly produces the energy but plug-in, during parking, or by a braking energy recovery system and photovoltaic panels on the transparent roof could charge the pack during the march. During high speed running the inverters provide also braking control, traction control and stability control making Zest one of the most safety car in the market.

Bozca Zest Concept

Bozca Zest is a truly unique piece of automotive design. The philosophy behind the Zest is, according to Bozca, one of equality between the sexes and what each desires in a vehicle. Men look for performance and stunning designs, while women desire creature comforts, useful interiors, and storage space.

Not only is the Zest an exercise in clever design, but its powertrain is something to be admired. An Audi-sourced, 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder with direct injection makes its home under the hood and produces 335 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque. The gasoline engine does not power the car, however. Rather, four synchronized electric motors at each wheel receive power from the gas engine and 84 kg (185-pound) on-board batteries to propel the Zest forward – with the ability to hit 62 mph from in just 5.5 seconds.
