DeWalt Air Compressor - One of my main tasks as an intern at Black & Decker was to design a portable frame and air tank configuration based around a new cleaner and efficient motor introduced for the compressor line. This page describes initial iterations of frame configurations.
DeWalt Air Compressor - This page took some of the potential solutions for the air compressor from the initial exploration stage and investigated them in more detail. Some considerations were collapsing handles, storage space, and user interaction.
DeWalt Air Compressor - The final concept was based on a tube frame originally developed for a pressure washer. Using this frame allowed for a larger tank, full access to the motor, and created opportunity for unique functions including a handle that protects the manifold when collapsed, an air hose reel, and a detachable tank.
Delta Projects - Some brief explorations within the Delta brand of woodworking products included explorations of a planer that raised and lowered the cutting head in a unique new way. Also, a re-design of Delta's basic vices was explored for an upcoming new drill press (Dustin Lee style)
