Caught in mid-fall
Floating leaves photographed from below give the impression of being forever frozen in mid-fall.
This project developed into yet another cycle of the mourning process for my daughter Adelina, who drowned in 2005. Shot while reading Tarjei Vesaas' novel "Ice Palace", it involved lots of very cold immersions and another stage in letting go, even if the invisible ledge of water that the leaves float on suggests I'm not quite able to relinquish her to the earth yet.
