Ice cream sticks were used to create the frame of the lamp. I just made a multiple of triangles with the sticks to see what form it creates. I added another transparent and translucent layer to the frame to play around with the intensity of shadows as well.
I hand cut stencils of Birds to play around with shadow and mood. I wanted to give the feeling of "liberation" by showing birds freely flying away. I wanted the shadow of the birds to look like it's flying away from the stencil. This also depended on the colour of the lighting. I used different colored sources of light and also used two sources of light to experiment the effects it had on the shadows.
I used colored gateway sheets to create a lamp shade over a mold. I wanted to play with layers and see how light diffuses through differently through different layers.
