deaf not silent - dNS began as a project around sound and developed into a research paper and art installation. deaf not Silent focussed on the deaf community in Melbourne and on creating an online video communication tool to converse using Auslan over the internet. In addition, a deafness awareness campaign was launched, with posters depicting Auslan slogans. These, along with signed ‘life stories’, and a series of flip books formed an exhibition at City Library and Platform art gallery as part of Mudfest.
