NOUS ENGINEERING | The new graduation pavilion for the Southern Califorina Institute of Architecture (SCI Arc) will be a series of steel frame volumes with a membrane underbelly, standing over 60’ tall. The entire structure will be engineered by Nous, including the formfinding, patterning, material research, prototyping, and fabrication administration of the membranes. An innovative weaving approach will develop warp/weft via mesh strips, which will then be joined into hyperbolic panels. The structure will serve as multifunctional gathering space for the school.
