A quick sketch session and then straight into 3D modeling.
First solution:
0.75" thick acrylic block with removeable vinyl graphic. The notebook sits on a separate piece of angled acrylic.
Second solution:
Metal box with top acrylic panel. Removeable/changeable vinyl graphic. Logo on the front face is lit by LED lights inside the display. A shelf attached to the back of the display supports the notebook.
Third solution:
Similar to the second solution, but the client asked to see the shelf angled slightly towards the customer.
