Gr(e)ater Light
Gr(e)ater Light is a project of reuse and upcycle. It reuses graters as lampshades to create a chandelier, industrial-looking and brutal, with sharp reflections due to the reflective steel and the holes of the grater. Three bulbs without a grater are hung between graters create additional game of light and reflections.
Gr(e)ater Light is a cluster of ten graters with bulbs in them and additional three bulbs without graters. They are hung by wires coated with black fabric with lengths ranging between 50 and 70 cm.
Gr(e)ater light is inspired by the movement of DIY, by Upcycle and the Makers movement, from the classical idea to reuse a grater as shade, and by industrial feel environments.
Gr(e)ater Light turns this idea into a
cluster that no longer has the appearance of '' homemade '' and rustic product but
multiplying the graters and the lamps it is transformed into a'' design object '', which gives character to the environment in which it is located.
