Cross-Water Skis
The Cross-Water Skis project was my final Industrial Design undergraduate project. The project focused on developing self-propelled water skis for recreational use.
The concept of self-propelled water skis came about when researching a variety of current water sports. Most water sports require the use of upper body strength to paddle, so I wanted to develop something new that used lower body strength to propel.
Cross-Water Skis work by gliding one ski forwards at a time in a motion simmilar to cross country skiing. Flaps on the bottom of the skis flip up when moving forwards to allow the ski to glide, and flip down to create resistance when moving in reverse.
