Designed as employed by Tom Raffield. Where complex forms are adopted as a desire to create unique, high-specification products that will be cherished by their owners. Sensuous forms are used throughout Tom Raffield's work which correspond with my design style, enabling me to apply my creativity into a subject of relevance to current needs for a sustainable world.
Purposefully made to be hand crafted to order with the use of specialist tooling. Longevity, minimal manufacturing processes/ materials, low emissions, organic form, low cost, lightweight, sustainably sourced materials and originality have all be focuses in this project.
To simplify the manufacturing process, Squid can be created in separate planks yet still possess near the same sustainable and aesthetic qualities. Doing so may also conform better with Tom Raffield's current design work. Below demonstrates how this alternative design could be featured.

Sustainably driven side table made using green oak and steam bent as a single piece to minimizes the amount of material used. Constructing as a single plank creates the highest standard product from the provided material for the user get maximum fulfillment, in order to maintain the product.
