SneakerHead

Sneakerheads are people who are obsessed with collecting and trading sneakers. Often, this hobby is a communal activity, and therefore, having a clubhouse space is beneficial for this group.
I designed this club using a sneakerhead's heirarchy. I decided that a sneakerhead would prioritize the shoe exhibition and education space, enjoy the lounge, garden, and juice bar, and care less about the gift shop and storage areas. I then placed the programs within the space in a way that encouraged a sneakerhead to move through the entire building to get to all of the spaces he or she would want to occupy. Two of my favorite elements of the design are the stair/seating arrangements and the juice bar. The stairs create an elegant solution to the need for lounge areas, exhibition space, and an amphitheater by providing seating and circulation routes in the same space. The juice bar straddles the interior and exterior space by opening fully to the garden with folding glass doors.
