This project began with the intention of creating a family of GPS devices which could be used in conjunction with each other by people of different skill levels with varying price ranges. The navigation systems were created to improve the existing GPS devices which have proven to be confusing and difficult for many users.
Developing this system allows individuals with differing skill levels different amounts and types of ] information along with the ability to communicate with one another through a walkie talkie system. This in turn allows a child to navigate independently while staying in touch with adults and gives adults the ability to track the desired information for their hike such as elevation, distance to destination, and other features.
