Leslie Park Playground Final Design - Design Conditions-
As part of the City of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Playground Program Leslie Park Playground was issued the highest hazard rating constituting a complete rehabilitation according to current safety standards. The small site, nestled in a recreational park, called for many play elements, for children of all ages.

To create an exciting learning environment while separating play areas.

The small site, nestled in a recreational park, called for many play elements, for children of all ages.

Site Analysis - Site Analysis
-Small sight with two healthy large shade trees.
-All play equipment, spray pool fixture and hardscape must be removed for safety reasons.
-The spray pool plumbing works.
-The concrete retaining wall needs repair.

Design Concept - -Separate areas for age 2-5 and 5-12
-Modern equipment on synthetic protective surfacing.
-meet current safety and ADA standards.
-A spray pool covered with the top layer of the synthetic surfacing.
-Park benches and a picnic table situated around the site taking advantage of the existing shade trees when possible.
-A three-pedestal drinking fountain available for all users.
-Litter receptacles situated around the site.
-New shade trees blocking southern sun.
