This was a assignment for Sophomore Graphic Design Studio. We had to pick a graphic designer whose style we liked and we had to pick a song we liked. We had to use the style of the Graphic designer we had chosen to make a poster for the song we picked. We where required to include the title of the song, the artist, and where the song could be purchased. I chose Woody Pirtle as my Graphic designer and I chose the song Thrift Shop by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis ft Wanz. I was inspired by Woody Pirtle's Stop Gun Trafficking poster and used the same concept to spell out thrift shop using clothing tag icons. The thrift shop text was inspired by the font used by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis for their names. I ended up creating two final posters one with a navy blue background and one with scanned image of a crumpled brown paper bag. The Navy blue was a color color pulled from screenshots of the music video and the brown paper bag was used because some thrift shops bag purchases in them.
