Ruism Set
This pottery set, looks at the social transformation which China is going through. A transformation which is disrupting the fundamentals of their culture, transiting from a confucianism culture, where life and work are shared, to western culture of individualism.
Ruism set is based on, arguably, one of the most confucians dishes Chinese cuisine can offer, “Hot Pot”, the plate associated for connecting memories of family meeting and friends reunions, consists on a central cooking pot, with boiling water, where participants cooked their food in a sharing ritual. From it, was developed the set, of five parts for respecting cultural superstitions, and shaped under the idea of sharing.
