As the senior designer for Prevent Blindness, I receive the bones of a project via Word document, PowerPoint presentation or an email, phone call or meeting. I then develop the concept and take it all the way to completion. Most of what we produce is web based or electronically submitted to our customer base. In the case of invitations, posters or other printed materials, we have a system in place where I oversee the printing in house or I send it out to one of our favorite vendors.
