PROJECT # 01 THROUGH THE KALEIDOSCOPE Working on a piece right from developing artworks, co-coordinating with artisans to map out the perfect details on surface and designing the color concepts. THROUGH A KALEIDOSCOPE, as the name suggests, the whole project is based on reflections and angles. The images seen through are taken from the colorful paintings of POUL WEBB. The whole collection of fabric samples and artworks, is derived by combining these patterns from the paintings into reflections, thus forming an illusion. The picturesque patterns provides the perfect inspiration for repeats and formations. Under the esteemed guidance of designers Pankaj N Nidhi, I have come to understand, the harmony and synchronisation between different types of fabrics, use of various machine and hand work techniques and the balance in colors. This project is an example of how even a simple artwork can lead to even the most mind blowing concepts when transferred onto fabric.
PROJECT # 02 CIRCUITS A whole range of garment designs specially based on prints. A simple transformation of lines and units, from the complex structure of a circuit. Experimentation as to how geometry in prints be coordinated with flow and curves in style and patterns.
