We often oppose constraint to freedom as it seems to reduce the field of action. However, it’s effects are sometimes unexpected and often question its restrictive nature. The aim of the project is to enhance constraint, to make it visible to better appreciate its scope and issues.
Witness is a chair that allows to view tensions and physical stress with which we interact everyday. Thus, the chair answers colorimetrically to each pressure that is applied to it, Whether we sit or we simply manipulate it, a true dialogue takes place between the product and the user
The structure is composed of a core of fiberglass associated with a combination of pressure sensors and LEDs. Force sensors identify distortions while diode visually transcribe this information.
