Doctors & Sex Abuse project

arlubicDesign Studio was commissioned in 2016 to design the Doctors & Sex Abuse project for the AJC. The series was an exclusive one-year national investigation about doctors who sexually abuse their patients and the medical system that protects them. The most compelling feature and driving force of the project were illustrations performed by AJC staff artist Richard Watkins. Richard's work, along with solid reporting and writing, all led to a design that both conveys the urgency of the issue and carefully documents each heartbreaking case through a visual and typographic narrative. The newspaper devoted more than 67 full pages to the project from start to finish, which demonstrated its commitment to exposing a shocking and unimaginable national crisis. The series ran from July to December 2016.
