Abberations
Aberrations was born from an interest in the
effects of optics on physical reality. Seeing
them not as objects that distort, but instead as an actual physical reconstitution of our reality through their interaction. Tight focus, bold color and disorienting depth in each image further seek to cast off any or all rational comprehension, requiring more concentrated thought to deconstruct. Influence was drawn from the experimental photographic works of Eileen Quinlan, the scientific photography of Caleb Charland, and the geometric constructivist works of Piet Mondrian. The unique qualities of each composition defy being recognized as a traditional photograph and transport the viewer to a surreal formscape reminiscent of the post-modern separation of image and content.
