Calendar App, Month View: The Month View featured Motorola's new command bar UI pattern at the top of the screen, which I heavily promoted. (Most Blue Blur Motorola apps adopted the UI pattern in some way.) (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Month View, View Popup: Touching the word "Calendar: Month" displayed the View Popup. The UI pattern for this popup followed the designs I used on the Organized Apps Launcher Screen and Tasks app. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Agenda View: The basic calendaring experience supported 4 views: Month, Week, Day and Agenda. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Agenda View, View Popup (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Event View: We heavily customized the Event View to provide support for ActiveSync/Outlook calendars, including Out of Office and Tentative types of events (not shown). Among multiple other features, we also added support for setting a conference bridge for an event, or a global value for all events created by the user. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Event View, Share Dialog: We built enhanced support for sharing and importing calendar events via vCards. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Event View: We added support for colored backgrounds for ActiveSync and Facebook events to add to the visual appeal of the app. Each calendar source (e.g., Gmail, ActiveSync, Facebook) received a different colored background. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Event Edit Form: This is an example of the bottom of the new Event Edit Form. We added a ton of extra handling for better integration with ActiveSync/Outlook calendars. We also added support for conference call bridges, which was quite a challenge. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)
Calendar App, Event Edit Form, Conference Call Bridge Dialog: The user could optionally add details about a conference call bridge related to the meeting. This feature was intended to enhance the calendaring experience for enterprise users. (Blue Blur launched Spring 2011)

Motorola Calendar App (2010)

I was the lead UI designer for the Calendar app throughout the year 2010. Although I left Motorola in December 2010, the "Blue Blur" version I worked on is still intact as of Summer 2012 on a Motorola Atrix 2 running Gingerbread (Android 2.3). Motorola worked hard to enhance the calendaring experience with an emphasis on enterprise users. The Motorola version offered much better integration with ActiveSync/Outlook, support for one-touch entry to a conference call, and integration with Facebook events.
