felted stool - The stool’s soft pillow shape complements an angular white steel structure.
The four wool felt components used for the cushion are molded into 3D shape using traditional millinery techniques: with steam and heat over a wooden mold. There is minimal fabric waste since what would be offcuts becomes decorative detail (photo at right shows entire waste created during the making of the cushion).
The stool was selected for the Prototypes exhibition at the Toronto Interior Design Show 2009.
