Spiritridge Elementary School, Bellevue, WA
The complete redevelopment of the existing public school emphasized environmentally sensitive solutions. The design meet high level performance standards of Washington State Sustainable Schools Protocol (WSSP) that are equivalent to LEED Silver certification. The landscape architecture programs provide a variety of outdoor learning environments, preservation of existing coniferous tree groves, construction of rain gardens throughout the site to recharge groundwater, installation of porous pavings, and planting with native and drought tolerant plants.
