The names proposed by the owners were "Desert Quench" and "Chewy Boot," neither of which would function well according to the target market but communicated a direction to take the feel of the product. "Quench" led to the idea of a skeleton looking for some form of refreshment in the desert. I have always been fascinated by the style of Posada and wanted to let that influence parts of the skeleton construction. It sounded at first like the owners were wanting a serif or slab serif typeface to accompany the illustration, but that element evolved during the course of the project.

"Desert Sun" is where we landed for the final name, developing a sunny background intending to allude to a lemon flavor.
