SOMERTON HOPE CENTRE NEWPORT (FEB 2011)
This project involved designing a cafe space within a new community centre. We collaborated with the social enterprise Pinkspiration to design a space that would relate to the local area and be used for the community's changing needs. The project enabled me to develop research and annalytical approaches relevant to externally set design tasks. The brief reinforced the fact that designs have to be presented to a high standard and explained well enough to ensure understanding. I was proud to be chosen as 1 of 6 finalists to present my deisgn to a select panel from the community and attend the grand opening.
