Elizabeth Green Elementary School - media center circulation desk for K-4 school in Newington, CT. desk had to comply with ADA standards. the metaphor of "a tropical forest" for the interior design of the school was translated into this desk. desk has a large "deck" surface for computer and paraphernalia as well as lockable cabinets.
Stafford High School - circulation desk for the media center, had to conform to ADA and AWI standards. the design was a simple tapering face which aligns with the soffit above. the middle part breaks up to reveal the orange laminate. this "space" was created for wheel chair access. materials used are plastic laminates on all exposed surfaces, 3mm plastic edging and particle board core. the rear side of the desk contains lockable cabinets, filling drawers and storage spaces
