These special pins and mounts were created to for a quality test.

The mount is designed such that the special pins fit into the top hole, and are held in place with a magnet mounted at the bottom of the hole. A proximity sensor is then mounted through the back end, and is activated when it comes in close proximity to the metal pin. The mount is then fastened to the machine, and the machine is programmed such that the process cannot be cycled if the pin is not present in the mount (so the pin is not lost).

The mount is two separate pieces- both designed using Autodesk Inventor and 3D printed using a MakerBot Replicator 2.
