Garden Design - Competition Entry

Year- 2014

Area- 2150 Sq. Ft.

The act of constructing landscape, the act of imitating nature is one that is inherently artificial.

The design combines this artificiality in an abstract imitation of the fabric of nature- the multiple layers of soil that make the substrate on which all landscape is based. A mound of grassy earth on one side with an almost plastic flip side- a rainbow of colors. These brightly colored strata borrow from the flowering plants that abound in the garden.

The strata would be made of painted pebbles that sit on a bed of white pebbles. The almost ‘streetart’-is que nature of the installation would add an element of surprise and interest amongst the visitors.
